Terrence Johnson
Founder and President

Terrence Johnson is the Founder and President of A Plus Workforce Foundation, a Charlotte-based nonprofit
dedicated to workforce development, skilled-trades education, mentorship, and second-chance career opportunities.
Terrence's journey in the skilled trades began at age 16 when he attended Job Corps. While there, he earned his
GED, obtained his driver's license, and discovered a career path that would shape his future. He continued his training
through a plumbing apprenticeship with Plumbers Local 66 and pursued ongoing professional development through
industry training, certifications, and college coursework, including studies at Piedmont Community College.
Over the course of his career, Terrence has earned multiple state trade licenses and professional certifications and
has built more than 15 years of contracting experience in plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems across North
Carolina and South Carolina.
His own experience with career training inspired him to create A Plus Workforce Foundation. The Foundation is designed to give young adults, veterans, career changers, reentry populations, and individuals seeking a second chance access to practical technical training, mentorship, life skills, apprenticeships, and pathways into meaningful careers.
Terrence's guiding philosophy is simple: "Each One, Teach One." He believes that when people are given opportunity, practical skills, mentorship, and accountability, they can strengthen their own future, their families, and their communities.
